AVCONS Ltd. was established to meet the growing demands for Air Launchers for Snow Avalanche and Rockfall Mitigation, operating significantly beyond the current 1km to 2km range of its competitors while maintaining military level accuracy.
We do not simply sell Air Launchers, but take the time to liaise with our customers to understand their particular avalanche hazards and equipment needs. From those discussions we offer the most appropriate solutions including the provision of turnkey systems, project management, installation, commissioning, operator training, in service support, corrective and preventive maintenance.
We can also offer total support packages where, in addition to the Air Launcher, we can provide the staff necessary to carry out routine maintenance and system operation. Service technicians will visit at regular periods throughout winter periods, keeping the equipment in tip-top condition and ready for any eventuality. Operators will be on-site in advance of, and throughout, every storm of the season.
How it works...
Using compressed air, an explosive payload is fired into the avalanche start zone. The objective is to loosen unstable snow, causing an avalanche of controlled proportions, at a time when there is no hazard to people or equipment.
